Wine-tasing in the picturesque Franschoek valley.
|
Experience some of the best wines South Africa has to offer with this guided tour through the wineland towns of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek; and a fine-dining lunch amidst the vineyards.
A 1 hour drive takes you to the historic town of Paarl, where you can enjoy a cheese & wine pairing and then pop-in at the Victor Verster prison (optional) from which Nelson Mandela was released in 1990.
From there, we travel through the picturesque vineyards set against the Cape fold mountains to Franschoek - established by French Huguenots in the 18th century - where you can lunch (optional) on the lawn or verandah overlooking the valley, sprawling out below you.
From Franschoek your tour continues to the university town of Stellenbosch, where more wine-tastings await you, before a sunset drive back to your accommodation.
This is a private tour over 180km in an air-conditioned vehicle with light-refreshments, accompanied by a fully-qualified guide who will share the cultural and natural history of the winelands with you.
